A busy restaurant has no time for paperwork. Orders move from the table to the kitchen to the bill in minutes, and every mistake is a cold dish, an unhappy guest or money lost. Restaurant POS and kitchen software keeps orders, tables, stock and accounts in one flow, so staff can focus on service.

What restaurant software should do

Fast POS billing

Billing in a few taps, with split bills, discounts, service charges and several payment methods. At the end of a shift, the takings should match the system.

Kitchen order tickets (KOT)

Orders go straight to the kitchen as clear tickets, by station if needed. No handwriting to read, no orders lost on the way.

Tables and floor

Which tables are free, occupied or waiting for the bill, so hosts seat guests faster and waiters know where to go.

Inventory and recipe costing

Ingredients used by each dish, deducted from stock as orders are served. The real cost of every dish shows which menu items earn money.

Shift reports and branches

Z-reports at the end of each shift, and reports that compare branches for owners with more than one restaurant.

What to check before you choose

  • Speed at peak hours. Test with real orders at a busy time, not in a quiet demo.
  • Printers and devices. Kitchen printers, cash drawers and tablets that your staff already use.
  • Menu changes. Prices, items and combos that a manager can change without help.
  • Offline behaviour. What happens when the internet drops during service.
  • Online orders. If you sell online, orders should reach the same kitchen flow.

Frequently asked questions

What is a KOT?

A kitchen order ticket: the list of items the kitchen has to prepare for one order, printed or shown on a screen at the right station. It replaces handwritten slips, so orders are clear and nothing is lost between the table and the kitchen.

Do we need special hardware?

Usually a computer or tablet at the counter, a receipt printer, and a kitchen printer or screen. Check that the software supports the devices you already own before you buy new ones.

Can one system handle dine-in, takeaway and delivery?

It should. Each order type has its own flow, but all of them should reach the same kitchen, the same stock and the same daily report.
